Install Runway Vertical/Visual Guidance System - 18/36, Remove Obstructions [Hazard]

  • This grant will provide federal funding for the Camden Municipal Airport associated with Camden, Alabama. The local point of contact is Hon. Terry Baggett, Mayor of Camden. Hon. Terry Baggett may be reached at (334) 682-4603.
  • This project installs new Runway 18/36 precision approach path indicators to make the airport more accessible by improving approaches to the runway ends and to meet Federal Aviation Administration Standards.
  • This project removes tree hazard obstructions, as determined by the Federal Aviation Administration's Air Traffic Organization, to enhance the safety of airfield operations.
  • This grant funds the reimbursement for the removal of tree hazard obstructions of Runway 18/36 completed May 2018.
  • Camden Municipal Airport is a general aviation airport, designated as basic, as defined in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) report.
  • Following this grant announcement, FAA will notify the sponsor of the allocation. A grant offer will be issued subsequently for this grant as finally formulated.
