Improve Runway Safety Area - 10R/28L

This grant will provide federal funding for the Monterey Regional Airport associated with Monterey, California.This grant is being increased from $2,702,436 to $7,824,490. The increase is based on the availability of additional funds, which enable the project to be fully funded this year.This project makes grading and resurfacing improvements to the Runway 10R/28L safety area to enhance the safety of operations at the airport.The FAA worked with the nation's 14 CFR part 139 certificated airports to complete all practicable improvements to Runway Safety Areas prior to the deadline of December 31, 2015, however some airports including this one continue to pursue further improvements as they become feasible.Monterey Regional Airport is a nonhub primary airport associated with Monterey, California. A grant offer will be issued subsequently for this grant as finally formulated.
