Install Airfield Guidance Signs [Multi-year Funding], Install Miscellaneous NAVAIDS [Multi-year Funding], Install Runway Lighting [Multi-year Funding] - Plan-1, Install Runway Vertical/Visual Guidance System [Precision Approach Path Indicators, Multi-year Funding] - Plan-1, Install Runway Vertical/Visual Guidance System [Runway End Identifier Lights, Multi-year Funding] - Plan-1


  • This grant will provide federal funding for the Williston Basin International Airport associated with Williston, North Dakota.
  • This grant is funded by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) of 2020 to increase the Federal share to 100 percent.
  • This project installs two new wind cone navigational aids to improve safety and provide pilots with critical airfield information.
  • This project installs six new airfield guidance sign fixtures to meet current Federal Aviation Administration design standards to enhance visual guidance of aircraft.
  • This project installs a new Runway 4/22 lighting system to enhance safe airfield operations during low visibility conditions.
  • This project installs new Runway 4/22 end identifier lights at this commercial service airport.
  • This project installs new Runway 4/22 precision approach path indicators at this commercial service airport.
  • This grant will be issued as a multi-year grant with $5,555 in fiscal year 2020 funding. The remaining $1,043,453 of entitlements will be added by amendment subject to future appropriations through fiscal year 2021.
