Description:
Acquire Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Vehicle, Construct Aircraft Rescue & Fire Fighting Building


  • This grant will provide federal funding for the Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport associated with Birmingham, Alabama.
  • This project constructs a 17,548 square foot aircraft rescue and fire fighting building to assist the airport in meeting safety requirements of 14 CFR Part 139 and extend the life of the ARFF equipment by protecting it from adverse weather conditions.
  • This project acquires two new aircraft rescue and fire fighting vehicles to assist the airport in meeting safety requirements of 14 CFR Part 139.
