Description:
Improve Runway Safety Area - 06/24, Rehabilitate Apron, Rehabilitate Runway - 12/30, Rehabilitate Taxiway


  • This grant will provide federal funding for the Elko Regional Airport associated with Elko, Nevada.
  • This project will fund the rehabilitation of 22,222 square yards of the existing general aviation apron to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement.
  • This project will fund the rehabilitation of 2,200 feet of the existing Taxiway B needed to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement.
  • This project will fund the rehabilitation of 3,012 feet of Runway 12/30 to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement and to minimize foreign object debris.
  • This project includes soil stabilization and drainage improvements in the Runway 6/24 safety area to assist the airport in meeting Federal Aviation Administration design standards.
  • The FAA worked with the nation's 14 CFR part 139 certificated airports to complete all practicable improvements to Runway Safety Areas prior to the deadline of December 31, 2015. However, some airports, including this one, continue to pursue further improvements as they become feasible.

  • Following this grant announcement, FAA will notify the sponsor of the allocation. A grant offer will be issued subsequently for this grant as finally formulated.
