Description:
Rehabilitate Runway - 01/19


  • This grant will provide federal funding for the Jackson Municipal Airport associated with Jackson, Alabama. The local point of contact is Hon. Paul Smith, Mayor of Jackson. Hon. Paul Smith may be reached at (251) 246-2461.
  • This project rehabilitates 5,003 feet of Runway 1/19 to maintain the structural integrity of the pavement and to minimize foreign object debris.
  • This grant funds the final phase, which consists of construction.
  • This grant will be issued as a multi-year grant with $450,000 in fiscal year 2019 funding. The remaining $150,000 of entitlements will be added by amendment subject to future appropriations through fiscal year 2020.
  • Jackson Municipal Airport is a general aviation airport, designated as unclassified, as defined in the FAA's National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems (NPIAS) report.
  • Following this grant announcement, FAA will notify the sponsor of the allocation. A grant offer will be issued subsequently for this grant as finally formulated.
